What is Mått Struktur?
Since 1974, Mått Struktur has created long-living systems, always striving to be better rather than newer.

Our essence
In a world defined by excess, we practice restraint. The Mått Struktur ethos is built upon the belief that a product should never scream for attention; it should earn its place through quiet utility. We adhere to three core principles: Our systems are designed to grow, move, and evolve with you. We celebrate the raw integrity of our materials—cold-rolled steel, solid ash, and precision-milled aluminum. We find beauty in the exactness of a line and the logic of a grid.

Our History
The story of Mått Struktur began in a small workshop in Halmstad, on the rugged west coast of Sweden. Founded during an era of emerging mass-consumerism, our studio was established as a deliberate counter-movement. While the industry turned toward the disposable, we looked toward the permanent. By combining traditional Scandinavian craftsmanship with industrial precision, Mått Struktur pioneered the concept of "living furniture"—modular systems designed so logically that they remain relevant across generations. We haven't changed our core silhouettes in decades, because we believe that when you solve a problem correctly, you only have to do it once.

The Designer: Lukas Bergwall
The visual language of Mått Struktur was defined by Lukas Bergwall (1938–2012). A student of the prestigious Gothenburg School of Design and Crafts, Bergwall was a man who famously owned fewer than fifty personal possessions. Before dedicated his life to furniture, Bergwall designed precision navigational instruments for the Swedish maritime industry. This background in nautical engineering instilled in him a rigorous obsession with tolerances and durability. His greatest achievement, the System MS-1, earned him the Nordic Design Prize and remains the benchmark for modular functionalism. Bergwall lived by a single mantra: "Design is not the addition of ornament, but the subtraction of the unnecessary until only the soul remains."

Our design
Mått Struktur design is silent. It draws from the Swedish heritage of Lagom - the pursuit of just enough. Our aesthetic is a byproduct of our engineering. We do not decorate, we organize. Every radius, every joint, and every fastener in a Mått Struktur piece is there for a mechanical reason. By stripping away the visual noise of seasonal trends, we provide a neutral canvas for your life. We don't just make furniture, we provide the structure for your environment to breathe.
